Hoang Thu Huyen, General Director of Asia Business Consulting, was invited by the Export Council of Australia (ECA) to share her insights into the key opportunities in the Food & Beverage and cosmetics industry, and the entry strategies into the Vietnam market for Australian exporters in the export webinar last week.
Australia and Vietnam are members of the AANZFTA Free Trade Agreement, effective since 2010, and the CPTPP Agreement effective from 2019. Most of the goods imported and exported between the two countries are exempt from import tax. Import and export turnover between the two countries has grown strongly in double digits in recent years. In 2021, the total two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Australia made a record growth, surpassing the threshold of 12.4 billion USD for the first time, an increase of more than 49% compared to 2020.
